Calling it Quits

Yup, you read it right. I can't speak for Bucky, but I'm giving up the buckybackers.com website when the URL comes up for renewal in May. The last ten years have been a lot of fun. I'll probably park the site on a subsite somewhere (I'll let you know), and we'll still have this site on blogger should something big comes up. But the $14.95 a year for the domain coupled with the diminishing chance of Bucky's return to professional ball makes it silly to continue.

Anyway thanks to all of you who made this little joke into a lot of fun. It was fun to see Bucky get to the Show; it's too bad he didn't stick longer.

Aaron

Hey Aaron, its Bucky! I just got the link from Joe, that you were gonna hang it up. (the BB website) that is Totally understandable, I just wanted to let ya know, that the 20th of this month, I have a private workout with the Royals! Who knows what will come of it??? But I wanted to let you know. If in fact it is truely over for me and the backers, I want you, Aaron to know that I have appreciated this little thing that we've had for the last decade! I can't believe that it has lasted that long. To everyone else, thanks for the support....Its been a lot of fun for me!!!
I'm gonna make one more run at this thing, cuz I know that I can still Hit!! If someone gives me a chance, I'm gonna make the most of it. Thanks again, Bucky Jacobsen #33

Aaron Thanks, to Bucky if you have to take a minor league contract DO it and make it back to the majors where you belong. I came across the BB late, but enjoyed the stories and pictures. I live in the NW and was privileged to watch Bucky play, and many hear are miffed by Bill Bavasey and what seems like his sabotaging of Bucky's carrier and know one giving him a shot. Thanks again Lee

Thanks, Aaron. I've only been reading this for about two years, I think. I don't know if that comment is really from Bucky. I'd like to have his email. God bless you, Aaron, and you, too, Bucky. I'm still praying for you once in awhile. Thanks again for your work. Dolores in Oregon

Hey Aaron, my name is Josh Niemyjski. I just sent you an email to your webmaster account for the BackyBackers.com site.

I'd love to take over the site and run it. I'm pretty well versed with websites so it would be a natural thing for me.

Hey Bucky, It's Mike from Kelowna...

The family is still keeping track of where you are in your career and we are extremely happy to hear you haven't given up.. We haven't either!

I hope all is well, and we miss you lots. WHEN you do play for the Royals, we will come out and visit you, just like we did in Seattle

Good luck Bucky, a tic tac for every home run brother!

Bucky: You have been an inspiration to anybody who has had a passion for something they truly love to do.

Baseball is all about dreams and possibilities. You've demonstrated to many what that's all about. I hope you make the Royals. But whatever happens, we'll never forget the memories. Best to you!
